World Series of Rodeo 2008 50th anniversary
Aside from boxing events, another entertaining show to watch in Las Vegas is the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Mainly sponsored by Wrangler, this is a big event to look forward to every December. Organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), this year’s Golden Anniversary event on December 4 to 13 will be even bigger. To be held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, this Super Bowl of Rodeo is a must-see for rodeo fans. I bet they will be buying ahead those Wrangler National Finals Rodeo tickets before they will be sold out.
Dubbed as the World Series of Rodeo, there will be seven events – bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, bull riding and barrel racing (exclusive to cowgirls) – where eight world champions will be chosen in the end. Other championships to be awarded will be for the best team, for the top header and the top heeler. The cowboy or cowgirl who earns the highest will also be awarded. It’s amazing to see how skilled and talented they are in the competition considering it’s a risky activity – steer wrestling or roping the horses galloping around and working together with their teammates.
