Travel collectibles and memorabilia
Travel bugs usually look for souvenirs to take home with them. Some prefer souvenir t-shirts and baseball caps, while others look for those native food and delicacies or handcrafted jewelries and accessories. Keeping collectibles and memorabilia is one way of going back to those sweet memories of the places visited and people met. These then are added to their travel keepsakes compilation.
While travel bugs keep stuff related to their trips, there are some who keep things related to their interests such as sports or music collectibles and memorabilia. For instance, at ShopWiki, there’s a buying guide for collectors before purchasing their favorite television, movie, or music memorabilia to add to their collection. There’s even an Elvis memorabilia buying guide. Other items that usually spark the interests of collectors are documents and currency, toys and decorative items.
Anyway, what’s your favorite souvenir item when visiting a new place? For me, it’s the refrigerator magnet. I am fond of collecting these cutesy magnets which usually are miniature models of a place’s icons, symbols, famous buildings and other tourist attractions. For instance, I have small refrigerator magnets of the Milan Cathedral, the Austrian and Deutsche coat of arms, and the Thai Grand Palace. They not only look nice as décors on the front of the refrigerator but they also serve as happy reminders of places visited. I hope to add some more when I visit Prague and Finland soon.
yeah i also buy ref magnets. they’re cute and handy souvenirs but sometimes we buy the round one (plate) with stand for our living room.
