Just some updates for this travel blog
I know I haven’t been blogging lately, I’m still organizing this travel site especially doing backup and upgrading to the latest WordPress. It sure takes time and some studying as I’m usually asking help from my techie bro when it comes to website issues such as database backup or looking for best website hosting. Now I’m happy that I did the backup and upgrade myself. I’m glad that I’m seeing my WordPress dashboard with a better look, and I like how the links to different sections are arranged now.
Anyway, these are just some of my life’s simple pleasures, being able to overcome apprehensions about doing things without assistance. I still have some travel articles to post such as the recap of our Berlin day tour, but some technical stuff regarding this blog needs to be addressed first.
My techie bro is also looking for another web hosting provider as we’re encountering some problems with one of our web hosts. For those who are planning to set up new sites and need to learn more about web hosting, there is some information available at webhostingrating.com that one can browse over such as articles on shared hosting or security issues. The site provides a list of top ten webhosting providers every year based on independent customer rating.
oh, lucky you Carey, you have a techie brother to help you. i am always lost 🙂
Well, I have several blogs and websites but I still haven’t figured out how to upgrade WordPress (although I have followed instructions found on the web). My host does not allow automatic upgrade and I am too afraid to mess up my blogs. I do have the latest version on my new trogir-blog, and I wish I had the same dashboard on the others. You are lucky and you blog looks great!
Betchai, yes, I am blessed to have somebody to run to whenever some techie stuff makes me go crazy! 😀
Hi Magnus, welcome! Like you, I am also afraid I might mess up my blog, so when the upgrade went fine, it was such a relief… 😀
And yes, I also find the instructions too difficult to follow… thankfully my bro helped me out, step by step.
