Important notes (MUST READ!)
1. For Route 1, Bacolod to Cebu via Don Salvador Benedicto, the schedule is sometimes not available especially during bad weather conditions since this route passes through the highly elevated town of Don Salvador Benedicto, situated between the mountains Mt. Mandalagan and Mt. Kanlaon. The 8:00 AM trip (Route 2 – Bacolod to Cebu via Escalante) is always available though.
2. The bus schedule and rates are subject to change anytime by the Ceres management due to weather and other travel conditions. The best way is to confirm ahead by dropping at their office at the Ceres bus terminal.
3. You still have to include budget (about Php200-300) for the barge or inter-island vessel where the buses are loaded during the travel between Cebu and Negros islands. There’s also a small terminal fee at the port of departure i.e. Tabuelan port in Cebu and Escalante port in Negros.
Here are some travel tips
1. Take the trip via Don Salvador Benedicto (Route 1). Aside from the shorter travel time and lower cost than the other route, you’ll enjoy the cool weather (similar to Baguio) as the bus passes by pine trees and breathtaking views of the countryside and the mountains.
2. If you do plan on taking Route 1 be sure to confirm the availability of the trip at the Ceres bus terminal the day before. Otherwise, you’ll go there early and end up waiting for the next trip at 8:00 AM.
3. Before the trip, take pills such as Bonamine (Meclizine) to avoid motion sickness (nausea or vomiting during trips) since you will be passing by some winding roads.
4. Be at the bus terminal at least an hour earlier than the scheduled departure as there are no seat reservations. You also avoid the rush and can choose where to seat in the bus.

tama ba ito? may 11PM as in gabi na papuntang Bacolod from Cebu? Bali early morning and dating nito sa Bacolod? Thank you.
Nelson:
Sorry for the error, the 11:00PM was meant for Bacolod to Cebu pala. I already made the correction. The scheduled evening departure from Cebu to Bacolod is at 9:00PM. Thanks for pointing it out, I couldn’t have noticed my mistake if not for your query.
Just an important note, as I’ve mentioned above, the schedule and rates are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. What we usually do is to inquire at their office a day ahead. For example, my uncle and his family rode a special trip from Bacolod to Cebu via Don Salvador Benedicto at 7:30AM last Jan 1. We got this schedule by dropping at the terminal the night before their trip.
Hope this info helps you.
Nelson:
The evening trips would usually mean the bus arrives the next day but the arrival time depends on whether it is high tide or low tide on which the barge (where the buses are loaded) is dependent. Low tide means the water is not deep enough for the barge to go near the port yet.
I remember taking a midnight trip from Bacolod to Cebu and we arrived about 9:00 AM at the south terminal. If you intend to take an evening trip, just inquire from their office about the expected arrival time.
Nice blog that you have the schedule for Ceres buses that you encode and it helps a lot.

Hello Ralph!
According to the schedule I posted above, there’s an evening bus trip from Cebu to Bacolod at 9:00pm. You will arrive in Bacolod early in the morning, though I’m not sure of the exact time details.
What time will you be arriving in Cebu on April 20? Just be at the South terminal early in the evening so you’ll have considerable time ahead of the departure time in case there will be changes.
Note that the schedule I posted here may have been updated already so it’s best to call them beforehand. I have no contact number for the Ceres bus terminal in Cebu but you can call the Bacolod Ceres terminal at (034)433-4993. They will still provide answers to your queries.
