Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center: Scenic views from the lobby

Continued from Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center: EcoTourism Park in Negros Occidental

These are some scenic views overlooking nearby areas in Negros Occidental, as seen from the lobby of the lodge at the Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center.

It was drizzling as we had our lunch, and the views were initially hazy with cloudy skies, we can’t even distinguish a thing few meters ahead. We were thankful when few hours shortly, the skies cleared up and we spent most of our time at the lobby capturing photos and just enjoying the place.

With the gloomy weather, we got this foggy view as soon as we arrived at noon.

Two hours later, the fog slowly lifted up…

…And we got beautiful clouds and clear skies to behold!

Late in the afternoon another group, a children’s choir, came over for an overnight stay. Their guardian who’s a pastor said they usually have outings as reward or incentive for the kids. It was such a wonderful treat to be seeing such picturesque sights while listening to their heavenly voices as they practiced in another room.

I love watching sunsets, observing how the sky changes color.

Beautiful sunset…a blend of orange and red hues.

The skies giving in to darkness as the sun slowly departs from our sight.

Wow, beautiful sky pictures Carey, I can’t choose any favorite since all of them are just really lovely. They make me really homesick now 🙁 looking at the 2nd picture makes me recall the days standing also at the same spot where you were and looking into the beautiful landscape and scenery that extends as far as my eyes can see.

If we stay in buenos aires, can we do day hike at the Rafael salas. Where would you suggest for us to stay if we stay for 2 nights. Which one is more economical to stay, or which one is more relaxing just to watch nature. thanks….Elena

    Hi Elena,
To reach Rafael Salas Park, you have to drive all the way up from Buenos Aires mountain resort, about 30 minutes drive. I suggest you stay overnight at Buenos Aires and the next day drive to R.S.Park and watch the scenic views from the lobby. Then you can ask the guide to accompany you to Twin Falls, which is about 15-30 mins hike from the park.

Buenos Aires resort has some facilities like pool, cottages and picnic huts by the stream, while Rafael Salas Park has only lodge facilities. You can read more about Buenos Aires resort here: http://www.happysteps.net/2009/04/01/buenos-aires-mountain-resort-another-tourist-destination-in-negros-occidental/
Which place offers the best views of nature? I’ll leave it up for you to decide once you’ve been to both places. Enjoy your stay!
