The Oasis of the Seas

I still dream to be on cruise, leisurely enjoying the serenity of the sea, feeling the gentle breeze any time you go out into the deck. Speaking of cruise vacations, I’ve browsed from the net that in the later part of 2009 there is to be launched the largest and most innovative cruise ship, the Oasis of the Seas. This huge vessel from the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line boasts to have a gross weight of 220,000 tons and can carry as much as 5,400 cruise passengers.
A mega-ship I know which is typically used for pleasure cruise is about 100,000 tons gross weight, with a capacity of about 3,000 passengers. Thus when compared to some mega-ships, the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas will be the largest. This is something cruise lovers can look forward to as it features an interesting concept of the outdoors brought into the seas and in the ship by its Central Park (see above photo), an open space which contains shops, cafes, restaurants, that suit one’s preferences, be it elegant dining or just a more easy-for-the-pocket atmosphere.

Another feature of the Oasis of the Seas Cruise Ship will also be the Central Park Gardens which will have different foliages from flowers to shrubs to trees, with walks leading to the Central Park shops. There will also be a Parkside Gallery…what more do you need? I wonder what other features of the Oasis of the Seas its management will divulge later on.
